Spring Valley Beach

Yesterday, Hannah and I were invited to go to Spring Valley Beach with my mother-in-law, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law. It was such a FUN day!!! After seeing how hot is was going to be yesterday, I dreaded going out and spending all day in the hot, humid weather. Once we got there, Hannah wanted to get right in the water, which we did. Staying in the water helped tremendously!! I don't think I ever got unbearably hot except for getting out to eat lunch. There were alot of people there, but since there is so much to do, the crowd is so dispersed. When Hannah saw the slides, she wanted to go down them. We went down the "big blue slide" once although Hannah wanted to go down it again. It was too scary for me to go down it with her (by myself would have been a different story). In the kiddie area, there were two slides that didn't put you in the water at the end. We went down those 5 million times. Then there were two mini slides (a fish and a frog) that Hannah could go down by herself. The water was shallow enough that while she was sliding, I was sitting in the water getting some sun. Unfortunately, because I stayed in the water with Hannah ALL day, I didn't take any pictures. As I was leaving, I thought about not having any pictures of this fun-filled day, but we will be back before the season ends, so I plan to take pictures then.

WEEK IN REVIEW~JULY 11-17

There hasn't been many exciting things going on lately. Last week, I went to my classroom to get things in order (which is still an ongoing project) while Hannah was at Mother's Day Out. The biggest accomplishment last week was finishing Hannah's first year scrapbook and completing our 2007-2009 photo albums!! I have set a summer goal every year since I have been teaching, and this goal was one that was LONG overdue. Our latest photo album ended with beach pictures from the summer of 2006! I bought all of the scrapbooking materials for our new baby's first year scrapbook when I found out that we were going to have a girl and they have been in the same Michael's bag since I bought them in 2007. I am so excited that Hannah now has a book that she can cherish for many years to come, and Bobby and I have photo albums that we can look back on as we grow older. This is one thing that I have promised myself that I wouldn't get so far behind on again, although it was ALOT of fun looking back and reminscing.

Day Trip to Montgomery

Today, Hannah, my mom, and I went to Montgomery to visit my sister, Sara and her husband, Joe. We had a fun-filled day. It started with us going to the Shakespeare Park to feed the ducks (and fish, and turtles). We then went to the Shakespeare Gardens to take a few pictures. We were all getting hungry, so we decided to go to lunch at Chappy's Deli. It was very yummy!! We then went to Aunt Sara's classroom to help her with a few things. Hannah enjoyed this because there were lots of toys to play with since Aunt Sara is a kindergarten teacher. Our day ended by going back to Aunt Sara's apartment and having a piece of cake that she cooked for us. It was very yummy too!!

Can you tell Hannah had a long, fun day? :)

Night at the Movies!!

Last night, Bobby and I took Hannah to see her very first movie at the movie theater. Our best friends, the Williams, had extra tickets to see the premiere of Despicable Me. It was a very cute and touching movie. Hannah did SO great for it being her first time. She did keep taking her 3D glasses on and off, but besides that, she sat and watched the movie and enjoyed some popcorn. Before the movie, we all went out to eat.
Out to dinner.

Waiting in line to get inside the theater.

Hannah and Hayden sporting their cool glasses too.

Waiting for the movie to start.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

On July 6, Bobby celebrated his 28th birthday!!! Hannah and I made a cake for him and got him a CD he wanted. We love you, Bobby, aka the best Daddy in the whole world.

Happy Birthday America

Our 4th of July started with a BBQ at our house. Bobby's parents and cousins came, as well as my mom, and our best friends, the Williams. We then went next door to swim. That turned into a water gun fight. Hannah and Hayden tried so hard to get Bobby wet!!! After we got dry clothes on, we headed to Homewood to watch Thunder on the Mountain. While waiting, other spectators were shooting off their own fireworks, and they were LOUD, but pretty. Hannah did NOT like the loud booms. Once the big fireworks started, I had to pry her hands from her face to show her how pretty they were and to prove they weren't as loud. Not even 10 minutes after they were over, Hannah wanted to see the fireworks again!! She fell asleep on the way home and slept all night.

OLS 4th of July Festival

We went to Our Lady of Sorrows 4th of July Festival today. My family has been every year since I can remember and now Bobby and I are continuing the tradition with Hannah (this is Hannah's 4th OLS festival). This year was alot of fun because she wanted to play all the games~cake booth, go fishing, golf, ball throwing, pick a duck, and dig for treasure. The part I look forward to is the BBQ. It is the BEST!!! We also found some treasures in the VERY popular Trash & Treasure. My beautiful little girl!!

Crawchicken at Acroback

Tonight Bobby, Hannah, and I went to dinner with my mom, sister, and brother-in-law at Outback Steakhouse. Hannah kept calling it "Acroback" for some reason. Bobby ordered fried crawfish as an appetizer and of course no one wanted any except for him and my mom. While waiting for them to bring us our dinner, Hannah was wanting her chicken. Bobby handed her a crawfish and told her it was chicken. Surprisingly, she ate that bite and LOTS more!!! Hopefully she doesn't have an allergic reaction to shellfish because this was the first time she has ever eaten any.
