All we do is WIN, WIN, WIN, no matter what!!!
Yesterday, Bobby and I got the opportunity to go down to Auburn. I haven't been in so long, and it was crazy how much everything has changed. One thing that hasn't changed, except location, was where I worked while in college down in Auburn. The balloon store, Check it Out, is still in business and the original owners were still there. After visiting them, Bobby and I went souvenir shopping at Tiger Rags. We then went down to watch the Tiger Walk. As many games as I went to while in school at Auburn, I never went to see the Tiger Walk. There were SO many people there. After the wonderful game and win, we went to Toomer's Corner and rolled the trees, an long-time Auburn tradition. I had the best time down there yesterday and the Auburn win over LSU was even better. Auburn is now the only undefeated SEC team and today was ranked #1 in the BCS. WAR EAGLE!!!
While we were in Auburn, Hannah was having fun here in Birmingham. We took her to my mom's yesterday morning so she could go with her and Uncle Monster (my brother) to his Marine Family Day. Hannah had fun riding the ferris wheel and getting many balloon animals. Yesterday afternoon my mom handed Hannah over to Bobby's mom where she would play with her cousins and spend the night. Needless to say, the Meacham's had a busy, fun-filled weekend and I wish we had one more day to relax before going back to work.
Old Baker Farm Pumpkin Patch
On Saturday, Oct. 16, Bobby, Hannah, and I went to the Old Baker Farm Pumpkin Patch. It was a beautiful day, but could have been about 10 or 15 degrees cooler. Hannah enjoyed finding her way through the corn maze, jumping in a truckload of cotton, petting and feeding farm animals, and of course riding the hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkins. On our way back to the line to wait on the hayride to take us back to the farm, we had a small incident. This was a real pumpkin patch (unlike the one last year in Hayden where they just dump the pumpkins in a field), so the pumpkins were all growing on the stems. As we were walking, Hannah ran into one of the tall briar looking things that grow from the stems. They had small cactus looking things that got stuck in her hair. When she reached her hands up to try to pull it out herself, they got all tangled in her hair. It took Bobby about 15 minutes trying to get the 10 or so out of her hair all while she is screaming crying!!! Everything was better once we got back to the farm and got us something to drink. We will definitely make this pumpkin patch our tradition though!! It was great. We may even go there to get our Christmas tree.
